A phenomenal, soulful experience – rain and all

点评：This was hands down one of the most memorable things I've done in Thailand. The elephants were clearly well cared for — no chains, no performing — just gentle giants free-roaming in a peaceful environment. Most were rescues or retired from logging, and it really showed in how relaxed and calm they were.
We had torrential rain the day we went, but honestly, it didn’t spoil a thing — if anything, it added to the experience. The whole trip was really well planned, and our guide, Non O, was absolutely brilliant. He was warm, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing anecdotes, local insights, and practical advice along the way. You could tell he genuinely cared about the elephants and about making the day special for everyone.
The time spent simply feeding the elephants, observing them up close, and watching them bathe — without any forced interaction — was powerful in ways that are hard to explain. There was something grounding and unexpectedly moving about being around these animals in such a natural, respectful setting. It felt less like a tourist activity and more like a quiet, shared moment with another living being.
If you're considering doing this — go. It's so worth it. Please use this company which is owned and staffed by local people.
