Small group excursions are best

点评：We really enjoyed this tour. We were met at the cruise ship tender dock and trucked to the base near Fare to board the boat. After a second part of the group arrived we were off to just off town for our first snorkel. We were a dozen or so, so a manageably sized group. While we swam, they prepared woven grass headbands for each of us, nice. After maybe half an hour we moved to an area west of, but in sight of the bridge spanning the two islands. After reloading we passed under the bridge to the bay where our ship was anchored and east, then south to our picnic motu. The views along the way were enhanced by ukulele playing and singing by the captain and driver. It really did help us get into the island mood to have this music! We watched them make our raw fish salad with fresh lime, coconut and pre-cut vegetables. There was also chicken, bread and more than we could possibly eat, delicious. Rum punch, water or soft drinks were in abundance. We lingered here a while, so long I was beginning to wonder what the holdup was. Then they hinted we would not have a third snorkel, but go back around the south tip, the long way. I looked at the time and knew we had plenty so started pressing for a third dip. We did in fact stop briefly and I saw my first back clown fish, a real treat! We were back to the tender dock in plenty of time to board, NO nail biting! Great outing!
