Beautiful Botanical Gardens
诗丽吉王后植物园的点评
点评：An amazing site with many different areas to enjoy. I hired a driver from Chang Mai. The drive to the gate was under an hour and the slowest section was leaving Chang Mai. This was a full day trip leaving at 9:30 and returning by 3:00.
Aside from the impressive covered exhibits (massive greenhouses with collections of plants), there is a beautiful canopy walk , thoughtfully designed and curated Natural Science Museum, banana tree collection, vines trail, waterfalls and trails through natural vegetation, coffee/snack areas and souvenir shops. Look at a map on Google images or the garden’s website for more information. If your family likes to picnic, I am sure you could find a nice shady area to enjoy.
The driver waited for me at each place. I could have walked the steep hills but this was much easier and allowed me to use my time well. There might be a garden train/trolley available if you are not with a car and driver. It’s a large area that has been developed and well cared for. I went on a day with sun, clouds and some rain and was happy to have a lightweight umbrella with me.
There were very few visitors. In fact, it was quite peaceful and I was alone in most of the big exhibit halls and the big museum! Hard to believe when it tops most Instagram type places. So much beauty and biodiversity in one place.
