点评：Getting there from freiberg
1. Head to the Freiburg Hauptbahnhof train station)
2. Take the Number 2 Tram in the direction of “Günterstal”
3. Get off at the Freiburg, Dorfstraße stop - 10 stops away.
4. Next, take the number 21 tram in the direction of “Schauinslandbahn Talstation”
5. Take it all the way to Schauinslandbahn Talstation (terminates)
Notice : In the event of strong winds or heavy rains, thunderstorms, cable car operations will be cancelled
The cable car is 3.6km long and the summit is 1284m high. Cable ride is 10mins. The views are fantastic from the cable car and the summit.
We wanted to visit the Museums-Bergwerk Schauinsland (mining museum) but sadly it was closed without notice.
I must say that there's really nothing else to do at the summit unless you're dressed up for a long hike in the forests.
On the whole, it's worth a visit if the mine is open, otherwise it will be low on my to-do list.
