Visitors Should Be Warned About Ferry Capacity

点评：We visited Brijuni National Park independently and overall thought the island itself was beautiful, but the ferry experience was extremely disappointing and stressful.
When we purchased our tickets, we were given the ferry schedule and understood that the ferries operated hourly. What was never clearly explained was that return ferry boarding is capacity-limited and that ticket holders may not actually be allowed onto the scheduled ferry if it fills up.
My 73-year-old sister is slower getting around, so she went ahead early to board the return ferry while the rest of us followed shortly behind. When we arrived, staff refused to let us board because the ferry had reached capacity, even though we had arrived for the scheduled departure we were given when purchasing tickets.
As a result, our group was separated, leaving my elderly sister alone for over an hour on the opposite side while we waited for the next ferry. The staff handled the situation very abruptly with little explanation or empathy.
The park itself is worth seeing, but visitors should absolutely be warned ahead of time that:
return ferry seating is not guaranteed,
ferries can reach capacity,
and delays of an hour or more are possible.
This is especially important for elderly travelers, families, people with mobility concerns, or anyone with parking limits or later travel plans.
