点评:This has been part (along with spoiling myself with a Jacuzzi room in the Comfort Inn in Athens - also highly recommend) once a year long weekend solo getaway from Central Kentucky as a history and train nut for the last few years. This route has by far the best scenery in the eastern United States that can be viewed from rails by the general public, with the possible exception of the New River Gorge in West Virginia on Amtrak's Cardinal - and if you have done that this will remind you of it.
If you do it get in one of the dome cars it's like a time machine and makes the views even more spectacular. I am horrible with names but the older gent who plays the banjo is always great at both comical but historical narrating and his banjo pickin'. Shout out also to the fella who used to be a science teacher in the area and now works on the train - again I'm horrible with names - but we remembered each other from when I rode last year and he is friendly and nice to talk to. TVRM is the best railroad museum in the South for a reason and this division of it is no exception.
