点评：We have been twice (2011 and 2024). For both trips we went on Wednesday and Thursday. There is only one session (morning) on Wednesday, but it includes a Mass Ascension, just like the weekends. On Thursday morning you get a "Morning Glow" in addition to the Dawn Patrol and while there is no Mass Ascension a significant number of balloons lift off. In the Thursday evening session you get a "Special Shapes Glowdeo", a fantastic drone show, and fireworks at the end of the evening. The crowds are significantly less than on the weekends. We left our accommodations in ABQ at 4:30AM and we were at the park and in the lot (two rows from the front) by 5AM. We walked down to the entrance (we had pre-purchased our session tickets) and were inside by about 5:30AM. There were only 10–15-minute lines for coffee and breakfast.
This was also true for Thursday morning. Thursday evening was a bit more crowded, but since the arrivals are more spread out is still only took ~1 hours from leaving our place in ABQ to be inside. The lines to get dinner were a bit longer, but we walked all the way to the north end by the Chaser's club and the lines at those food booths were much shorter.
The attendance for the week is almost ~1 million people. Almost all of them on the first weekend and the last Saturday. There is no traffic system that can get 200-300K people into that small space, especially for the morning sessions when everyone is trying to arrive at exactly 6AM. We talked to multiple people while we were in ABQ that had tried to attend on the opening weekend. Some had left home at 2AM and while the drive to the park is easier the parking lots do not open until 4:30AM, so you sit in your car for 3 hours in the dark.
If this is a bucket list item for you, I would strongly advise WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY.
