点评:If you drive past and see the grand entrance, you've seen the best part of this park.
The historical legacy of Nazarbayev is being reviewed, and the chips aren't falling in his favour - as this park seems to scream. It is poorly maintained to such an extent that I have difficulty imagining the grandeur ever having operated at a functional level. Huge spaces of channels, pools, fountain ponds and canals dedicated to impressive water features throughout the park were all empty or broken. Walking to the opposite end of the park to the "panoramic view" in the hope of seeing something vaguely worthwhile or impressive was wasted time.
The comparison to Gorky Park is ridiculous. Gorky is always kept in tip-top condition, and even Moscow's smaller grand entrance has a more subtle and stylish elevation of Lenin than is managed here with the "First President."
