A considerable and very well-done museum
KarLag / Museum of Political Repression Victims’ Memory of the Dolinka Settlement的点评
点评:A cracking museum. It takes some planning, as it is not very near to any nearby cities, but is absolutely worth the trip. A huge display of items, displays, dioramas and wax models. You could easily spend a whole day here, lest you be interested in more archival information and books. Unfortunately, I did have to rush my visit somewhat and would have spent longer perusing the artefacts and local town which apparently still has an active prison!
Buses do run to Karaganda central station very frequently and are very modern.
I used a Yandex both ways, however - Do NOT count on one being available for return journeys to Karaganda. The main road is a short stroll from the museum for the same bus back into the city.
The tour guide spoke faultless English and I had not even expected an English option. Very worthwhile.
What would I change? - Perhaps make the pricing and English/foreign language options more visible upon arrival, if the Kassa is not manned.
