Poor Service but a Beautiful Ride

点评：We did a bike trip in Salento organized by Apulia Bike Tours in September 2025. We started and finished in Lecce with stops in Gallipoli, Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca. The ride itself was very scenic along coastal roads with views of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. We saw awesome cliffs, medieval towns and beautiful beaches where you could have a swim. The ride was not particularly hard with only one day of some hills. The accommodation was good, and our bags were transferred each day with no issues. The route app worked well on our trip with no significant issues. We found that we would run out of battery power after about 4 hours. However, we had the app loaded on two phones and had a battery pack so we could charge along the route. We new from previous bike trips that using a app to navigate required a lot of battery power. Apulia Bikes never provided us that information we knew from previous bike trips. So, if you were new to this you could end up somewhere without any power to navigate.
We had a couple of issues with getting our bikes at the start. We were expecting to get step-through E-bikes but instead received a mix of non-step through E-bikes that were too large for 2 our group. It took over a day to get that sorted out and as a result four in our group missed doing the ride from Leece to Gallipoli. Also, during the trip, it became clear that one of the e-bikes was not work properly and provided no assistance to the rider in getting up hills. When we contacted Apulia bike tours, they provided no assistance in getting a new bike and left us to figure out a solution. Lastly on paying for the trip there was an additional “Service Fee" of 231 euros added to the invoice. When I queried what was covered in the Service Fee was not provided any rational.
Sadly, my over all conclusion is that I would not use this company again nor recommend it to others.
