A shocking act of cruelty witnessed

点评：In September 2024 I visited this stables. We were planning two trips for the days we were in Cairo. On the first visit, I witnessed the woman who runs the yard being harsh and unkind to her staff/groomers. The horses seemed to be in good care and I met lots of dogs that were also part of the stables (some had fleas/mange). On the second visit, getting out of the car a scene unfolded. A dog from a neighboring yard was trying to get by and the dogs from the yard I was at wouldn't let it by, being territorial and aggressive (instinct). Then this woman proceeded to pick up a lounge whip and approach the fight (which I thought she might just use it to hit the ground for effect), in the meantime a tuk tuk was driving past and hit a dog and the woman began shouting at the driver- as the driver drove on this woman picked on the weakest dog of her yards pack (a 4 month old Labrador) and whipped the front paw to the dogs utter devastation, the cries which followed will haunt me forever as the dog not knowing what it did wrong scarpered off away from the woman in true fear and terror. She proceeded to follow the pup and picked it up by its scruff and through it behind the gates. I stood there in complete shock and dismay - trying to figure out if she harmed me if I jumped in front of the dog. I completely regret not being able to come to the dogs rescue or console it afterwards as I froze, never before seeing such cruelty. The weakest most defenseless dog of the pack was picked and preyed upon. I quickly got in the car and drove away with rage and regret. To this woman, BE KIND and not EVIL!
