Main gallery closed for renovation, almost no signs in English
Hyogo Prefectural Museum of History的点评
点评:About the best I'll say about my visit is the museum has great air conditioning, which is most welcome if you come here after walking around Himeji Castle on a hot day. When I visited, the main gallery was closed for renovations. A couple of the side galleries were open, and had what looked like good history of the Himeji region. However the signs were all in Japanese. There was a gallery on the ground floor, maybe a special exhibit, about local festivals that is quite interesting. A second room next to this hads a great film about how they have been restoring the castle. There is great archival footage from the post-War years, and lots more scenes of how they have replaced and repainted individual beams. Overall, though, it was not really worth it.
