Taos Art Museum in Fechin House Shocks & Amazes
Taos Art Museum的点评
点评：The Taos Art Museum, with its setting inside the home of Russian artist Nicolai Fechin, shocked and amazed us in several ways.
First off, the home itself was filled with intricate wood carvings of brilliant design and execution, a true wonder. Second, we were startled by the quality of paintings by an artist who was totally unknown to us -- Fechin -- despite our knowledge and experience in art. His portraiture, in particular, was a wonder.
Lastly, the combination of such an artful home and studio, plus the works of art displayed there, was so unlikely.
That's why it became one of our favorite discoveries during our four days visiting Taos.
P.S. The museum's gift shop was remarkably well-curated as well, full of various wonders in many mediums. We ended up buying a piece of pottery by a local artist there, even got to meet him when we picked it up the next day.
