A beach with Mediterranean vibes in Phuket

点评：We have been here many times the last 25 years. Even before it became as popular as it is now. 20 years ago this was a 5/5 beach. Ten years ago a 4/5. Now it only gets 3/5. It is a nice beach but a lot of anchored sailboats in the bay take away some of the view. Its full of sun beds and now space in the shadow due to the sun beds owners have their offices there. They have also dammed the water behind the beach which previously divided the beach in two with a small river running along the south side of the beach. In my opinion this has made the beach more like other beaches on Phuket and much of the uniqueness has been lost. The extra area has been filled with a beach volleyball court. probably nice for those who like it. There is also an outdoor gym at the back of the beach. Lots of people and many rows of sun loungers.
Previously there were no sun beds here and the beach was then perceived as more intimate and nice. Cafes at the back. Possibility to buy drinks and food. Easy to get a tuktuk when you want to go further.
Steep beach with some waves. Small children may have difficulty swimming/playing here if the waves are a bit high. We were here on a calm day but saw several children getting rough treatment by the sea in the splash zone.
If you live nearby (within 15 minutes), take the trip. If you live far away (Karon, Patong or further), the question is whether it is worth the trip?
