点评:A Review of both the Old Town and the Bridge is in separatable.
Much publicity has been made of this particular spot at Mostar, Sarajevo. We travelled from Dubrovnik (Slovenia) south to Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and having our passport stamped. The Town straddles the Neretva River and is well known for the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), a reconstructed medieval arched bridge.
The city of Mostar truly revolves around the Old Bridge and has long been known for its old Turkish houses. The entire old town sprawls out around it from every side and much. Unfortunately the 1990s Homeland War destroyed most of the historic town and the Old Bridge (designed by the renowned architect Sinan). The one we see now was painstaking rebuilt.
Our guide tour and free time allow us to explore the cobbled streets of the Old Town, both before and after the bridge. It was really fun to browse through the many little boutique shops and restaurants that meanders through narrow alleys. Everything seems so incredibly quaint and well-preserved.
We all had great time strolling through elegant courtyards & streets filled with shops selling traditional handicrafts, And of course we explored at your own pace as we walked along the magnificent Old Bridge, taking many photos.
We bought many souvenirs (T-shirt & fridge magnets) and baklava from Ottoman Delights too. Even had our lunch at the (always crowded) Saravan restaurant.
A must-visit.
