点评:As the largest national park in Thailand, Kaeng Krachan has an array of forest types and is home to an impressive range of plants, mammals, birds, and insects. With good reason, it is considered a World Heritage Site for its biological resources. If this is appealing, then it is well worthwhile to get into the interior of the park, particularly via the Ban Krang campsite and its associated roads and trails.
Tents are readily available for rent at this campsite, toilet & cold shower facilities are clean, and there is a modest restaurant. A visitor can undertake several short hikes without a guide, and the road to Ban Krang and a short distance beyond are suitable for regular sedan cars, and feature several roadside pools that attract animals. To go farther to Phanoen Thung campsite and its early morning "sea of clouds" viewpoint requires 4-wheel drive, either your own, or a vehicle easily hired at either the park entry point or the Ban Krang campsite.
To the south, a portion of the Park includes a trail to the first 5 cascades of Pala-U Waterfall. The trail features large numbers of butterflies; the pools feature many native carp, fat from being fed by visitors. Elephants are reported to be plentiful along the road to this section.
