An Often Missed Hidden Gem In Jordan!

点评：Exploring the Jerash Archaeological Park was one of those travel days where you’re constantly reminded just how incredible human history can be. Sprawling, beautifully preserved, and surprisingly easy to wander, the site quickly became one of our favourite stops in Jordan. From the moment we stepped through Hadrian’s Arch, it felt like we were entering an ancient world frozen in time.
What makes the park so special is the sheer variety of landmarks packed into one space—towering gateways, sweeping colonnaded streets, intricate temples, enormous theatres, and hidden corners that suddenly reveal mosaics or towering columns. Every turn felt like a new discovery. Even in the late-August heat, we found ourselves slowing down, taking it all in, and appreciating how well-preserved so many of the structures are.
What really struck us was the scale. You can spend hours here (we did!) and still feel like you’re peeling back layers of history, from Roman grandeur to Byzantine craftsmanship. And despite being such a significant archaeological site, it never felt overwhelming or difficult to navigate—just incredibly immersive.
If you’re visiting Jordan, the Jerash Archaeological Park is absolutely unmissable. It’s one of those rare places where the past feels genuinely alive, and walking among its ruins was a highlight of our entire trip.
