点评：We arrived here late in the afternoon so we had missed the guided tour and only had around 2hrs to look around the place. Staff at the main gate were not very friendly just took our money and told us where to park. There is no map and very little signage to follow so you are left to wander around yourself . The whole town was deserted many years ago and the desert is slowly reclaiming it. It is set in the middle of nowhere in a desert and it must have been quite a bleak place to live. It was fascinating to wander around the buildings and explore all of the rooms, but make sue you wear a hat and suncream as it gets very hot and there is little shade. You can see why its popular for social media followers , as the sand, broken buildings and light and shade makes for some incredible images. There are two main lines of general work buildings and then a large recreation hall which has been refurbished and saved from the ravages of the desert . Here you will find a fascinating exhibition about life in the mining town, the main sports hall where a lot of social events took place and a bowling alley. There is also a small gift shop here and a cafe but it was closed when we got there and there was nowhere else to get a drink sadly. We loved our visit but a small sign on each of the buildings telling you what it was used for would improve the visit for those not on a guided tour. Please note that when you leave on the back of the ticket office , which you don't see as you drive in only as you drive out, is a large sign telling you that an audio guide is available. This would have improved our visit so much and a shame the sign is not visible to guests as they come in , or the staff inform you of it.
