Pretty wood garden slow cafe not great

点评：We like Evenley and we travel a fair way to go on occasion. Sadly the Halloween trail and general experience yesterday wasn’t great and left me feeling embarrassed that we had encouraged friends to come along.
Firstly we booked tickets for the trail- it says clearly on the website to buy tickets only for participating children. Only to get there and be charged £9.95 for myself!!? I am happy to pay an entry but this felt a lot
The trail was fine, some nice pieces but they have done much better in the past with other ones.
Kids were given a piece of paper which was sort of pointless - it wasn’t t really a tick box or questionnaire. -In the past we have exited and picked up whatever treat they were giving out. This time as we queued for eternity at the hut cafe a lady started bringing out the prizes. One of the children in our party who also is autistic had lost his piece of paper at the time (which we later found hidden in a. Pocket of my buggy) - she was refusing to give him his prize. What made it worse was how stand offish she was and the child who is autistic was becoming increasingly stressed as his friends all had their treat. Friends even showed her their tickets to show they had paid for this. She begrudgingly gave him his lolly- I mean they’re kids and we had all paid the fee , it was shocking and she should have been ashamed of herself. Like I said this wasn’t a sheet to complete it just accompanied the little trail.
After queueing for a thousand years for a drink ( why are the staff so slow!!!?) we had our drinks - now again happy to pay the price as long as the quality is there the bare minimum is hot drinks should be hot. A cold coffee at £4 that tastes of nothing in a small cup is not ok. Friends food didn’t come out after half an hour and hadn’t even been processed through the kitchen. This is toasties and sandwich’s it really shouldn’t take this long. Come on Evenley you can do better.
