点评:I'm not into 'must dos'. In fact, I generally avoid a 'must do' place since they are usually more hype that reality. But . . . in New River Gorge, this may be a 'must do'. So, as background, this is the road that people would take before the Bridge was built. It winds down to the bottom of the Gorge, crosses the River and back up the other side. The road is narrow, quite narrow (for most of its length it is one way, but wasn’t always so) and hugs the side of the canyon. At the bottom are two features – the original bridge across the river and a terrific view of the newer Gorge Bridge from below. The original bridge is a classic trestle bridge. Nice in and of itself. It is a lovely drive. One too many folks take too fast. It's one of those places to slow down and soak in the environment.
