点评:The Holocaust Museum is not vast and can’t be compared with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC or the Shoah Memorial in Paris and certainly not with Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, but why to compare? This small museum tells the story of the Holocaust survivors who came to Montreal after the liberation and miserable life in the displaced persons camps. I don’t know who wouldn’t get emotional listening to their testimonies about the horrors of the concentration camps and their everyday struggle to stay alive. They lost their families, homes, everything they owned, and Montreal gave them the opportunity to build their new lives from scratch. Canada has become their Motherland, where they and their happy children lived, studied, worked, and kept their traditions alive. It was incredibly difficult, poignant and very important visit for us… We were almost alone in the museum, so I didn’t have to hide my tears…
