SO much to see - One visit will not be enough
Grounds For Sculpture的点评
点评：I have often driven past Grounds for Sculptures and this was my fist opportunity to visit (despite being a NJ native).
Tickets are best purchased online and have generous admission times - select a time and you have 30 minutes from the reservation to check in. Check in is easy - show your bar code at the front gate drive in.
Plenty of parking but be mindful some of the parking may be a bit of a walk for those with mobility issues.
I chose to start at the far end to make sure I did not miss much. It's also super helpful to print a map.
The sculptures are amazing and reach all different eras and themes. Rural America, French and English Provincial - mixed among the ponds, lake, trees and the very evident bamboo.
Wildflower gardens abound and you really must look around - don't merely speed on by in your walk - there are often little things to see.
There are indoor exhibits as well - and a few eateries - like Van Gogh's cafe. I grabbed a coffee in Van Gogh's cafe and enjoyed it on the outside patio. As my visit was a Summer Friday, Rat's Restaurant was very busy so I will save that for another visit.
I really appreciated the Main visitor center which contains the gift shop and also the story of how Seward Johnson met his wife, started his family and the Idea bloomed f the Sculpture Park.
While I covered a lot of ground on my initial visit, I am certain to return and think seeing the park in 4 different seasons will be just as wonderful as full bloom summer.
