A great attraction, especially if you have guests
Grounds For Sculpture的点评
点评：We took out of town visitors to Grounds for Sculpture during their recent visit. This was a great choice. Although it was early November, there were still leaves on the trees. There was lots of color. They have plenty of evergreens too.
This is a sculpture park near Trenton and close to the Hamilton Train station on New Jersey Transit. Like many museums, they need to figure out how to make a visit interesting for younger audiences.
There is no printed map. Paths wind through the grounds. I think it is about 46 acres. They have plenty of spectacular sculptures, but they also have life size figurines that look a,most real. It might be a coup,eve gracing behind a bush or a person sleeping on a bench.
They have scenes where a famous artist is working on what appears to be a famous painting, with the scene directly in front of you.
I mentioned there is no paper map. You download an app to your phone. Through the app, you know where you are at all times, the details about the sculptures nearby and how to get back to the main building.
They also have a spectacular gift shop.
Are there negatives? Although this is a large outdoor park, you book timed tickets in advance. They run about $18 as I recall. If you wait until the last minute (to be sure the weather will be good) the tickets might be sold out.
