A great place to visit for long or short walks or just forest bathing and birdwatching.

点评：Our group of walkers in their 60's and 70's found varying trails suitable to their fitness levels. My group did the longest and most challenging walk all the way up to the top fence. We had plenty of time to look around on the way up but realised we would have to hurry to get back before closing time. Luckily we made it but if we had slower walkers it would be better to choose summer opening hours which are from 9am until 5pm.
The big trees in the remnant forest are huge and host many ferns and mosses along with the wildlife. The high canopy is home to many birds including Kakariki who chatter happily as they chase each other through the trees.
The tracks are well made but can be a bit steep in places. The creek crossings were good, not too deep or slippery. The tracks are well sign posted and some places give you an estimated time to get back. The bird song display at the start has realistic bird songs so you can recognise the different birds. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We found it easy walking and well worth the effort. A most enjoyable day out.

步道修建得相当不错，不过有些地方略显陡峭。溪流处的涉水路段也挺好走，水不太深且不易打滑。步道上设有清晰的指示牌，有些地方还会标明预计的返回时间。开头的鸟类鸣叫声展示环节播放了逼真的鸟鸣声，能让你分辨出不同种类的鸟。工作人员也非常友善且乐于助人。
我们发现这条步行路线很轻松，值得一走。真是愉快的一天啊。
