点评:Whilst visiting Washington DC we wanted to visit an outlet. The shops were great and we got some great bargains, in particular in the Sunglasses Hut, Lids, Coach and Ralph Lauren. The customer service in the shops varied greatly, the above shops had staff who were courteous and professional. However, in other shops the staff were indifferent and at times rude and intimidating.
There are few food outlets, just Starbucks and some fast food places.
It is difficult to reach by public transport and following our experience I would not recommend public transport. We took the Metro from the centre of DC to Southern Avenue and then a bus journey would be needed to get to Tanger National Harbour. Many of the clientele in the station were aggressive and it was best not to make eye contact!
So, we decided to get an Uber from there to the outlet. Our Uber driver told us he was shocked to see two Europeans standing at the station and advised us that we were in “thee most dangerous area of DC”. He said he saw us as a “rescue mission” to get us out of there safely. I’m posting this as visitors need to be aware that parts of the locality are potentially unsafe. We did not know that initially. My advice would be to avoid public transport and get an Uber to and from the outlet in daylight hours. Happy shopping!
