点评：My son 20 years and I at 61 years (back then in August 2024) climbed Ol Doinyo Lengai with guide Naatandoros Daude (Daude). I have climbed many volcanoes and this was my third ascent of Ol Doinyo Lengai. Daude is a top guide, a true friend, and a gentleman Maasai, impeccable English and very patient. We were the first to begin the climb leaving blue demon our rented 80 series landcrusier at the parking spot at the base of the volcano and then all the other climbers and their guides passed us and we were the last to pass though the pearly gates before the crater rim, but then we were the first to reach the crater 'cause all the other climbers and their guides were sleeping and resting in the thermal area of warm ground before the crater. So then we were the first to see the crater as we did not stop there (we had beforehand rested half way up the volcano with roasted goat meat and coffee). And we were the last to go back down the volcano! When we finally got back to blue demon - a flat tire and no jack greeted us - after much swearing I finally remembered the 12v air pump for the tires. Daude and the porter Isaya (strong as an Ox) did all that was needed as we were too exhausted. Great climb, great friends, great experience. The most interesting volcano in the world and my personal favourite.
