点评：Living in the Seacoast Region, I’m close to the lake Region where Ellacoya State Park is located.
One fine day, I finally went there during a vacation, after having driven past it hundreds of times en route to other places in Gilford, Laconia, Belmont, etc.
Pulling into the first section, I learned that there were two sections of the state park. The first section was for camping. The lake/beach section was at the second entrance just a bit further up the road.
I inquired about the park name. I thought it might be a Native American word. It was. Ellacoya was the name of the daughter of the chief of the northern area of Lake Winnipesaukee. She married the young chief of the southern area of the lake.
Then, I drove over to the admissions gate at lake/beach section. The parking area was good-sized. It was busy because it was a hot day just after Labor Day. I got a parking space without any difficulty.
After walking down the path from the parking lot to the beach area, I sat at a picnic table facing the lake in a shady area. Most of picnic tables were in shade.
The beach was about 600 feet long and very sandy.
There were restrooms, am outdoor shower, and a park store.
A lot of people were wading and swimming in the lake.
The park had a carry-in/carry-out policy. It seemed to work well because the beach area was very clean.
I went to the park store. It carried just about anything a beach-goer would want.
I enjoyed my afternoon at Ellacoya State Park and rate it at 4.50 and can recommend a visit.
The reason for the delay in submitting this review was due to a months-long loss of my ability to post photos with my reviews and some health issues.
