点评：We stayed in cabin 8 for two nights. It was bright, clean, and spacious with a screened-in back porch, comfortable beds, and a good TV. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch and feeling surrounded by nature, but sadly, there wasn't a view of the lake. We had reserved cabin 6, but were told on arrival that it was unavailable. However, no one appeared to be staying there.
We hiked the 2.7 mile loop around the primitive camping area. Locating the trailhead was a little confusing. It's next to a restroom. It was a nice, quiet, flat hike, but was nothing compared to being on the water among the cypress trees.
The highlight of our trip was kayaking Watson Pond with Wesley from Mill Pond Kayak. Kayaking is the best way to see the amazing beauty of this state park! Wesley gave a fascinating tour taylored to our interests for an affordable price, including kayak rental. He showed us water snakes, osprey, and barn swallows, in addition to a variety of gorgeous scenery. The tour was at our pace and we spent half a day exploring leisurely without other people around. An added plus, Wesley took pictures throughout the tour and gave us digital access to them for free. What a super experience!!
