We were scheduled to fly today from Aspen to Dallas, with an international connection to Querétaro, Mexico. Our flight was supposed to depart at 4:30 PM, but we were not informed until after 5:00 PM that the flight wouldn’t arrive and was effectively canceled.
Even worse, the airline staff told us to “do whatever we want”, offering no help or solution, and made it clear that American Airlines would not cover hotel, meals, or any compensation — despite this being entirely the airline’s responsibility.
This situation is completely unacceptable. We missed our international connection, we’re stranded without support, and we’ve received no empathy, no alternatives, and no accountability from American Airlines.
We expect an immediate response and compensation, not only for the extra costs we’ve had to cover ourselves, but also for the disruption, stress, and lack of responsibility shown by the airline.
American Airlines, do better. This is no way to treat your passengers.
