点评：The 1852 Almshouse forms the centerpiece of the Farm Museum. The three-story brick structure with basement and extra 2-story side building were part of the commitment Carroll County made when it was created. The ground floor today serves as the museum housing exhibits of original and locally donated antique furniture, artifacts, artwork, and more primarily from the Nineteenth Century. The other buildings include barns, outbuildings, and workshops for blacksmiths, farm equipment, ice, hay, weaving, and more. Entrance fees are very modest and, in fact, were waived for the holidays. There is good signage around town to direct visitors to the museum. Parking is plentiful. Finally, it is important to note that the Carroll County Almshouse and Farm, which comprises the museum, is among the 62 properties in Carroll County on the National Register of Historic Places.
