Enter the gates and marvel at the stunning, meticulously planted and trimmed grounds containing so much Houston and Texas history. Beautiful monuments and memorials with numerous historical plaques scattered throughout the cemetery surrounded by massive oak trees and flowers.
Extensive 19th-century statuary and Victorian-era monuments, including prominent historical figures.
Panoramic views of the downtown Houston skyline top it off!
Don’t miss the famous Cemetery Oak, a 130 year old massive live oak. It stands 64 feet tall with a trunk "wide as a Volkswagen" and branches that reach 100’s of feet around numerous headstones and monuments.
Over 88 acres, it’s the perfect place to walk and explore the history.
