San Sebastian Winery的点评
点评：My wife and I have visited the San Sebastián Winery numerous times over the years and enjoyed our time there. This last visit has caused us to knock it off our list of must does! We were not welcomed as staff was busy talking among themselves. A few steps in, we were asked to pay $5 for the tour and samples. Really a charge now after all these years?! We paid and joined the small group. Watched the movie and restaurant plug. Went upstairs, as usual, stopped midway, guide pointed at the steel containers on one side and the other shipping boxes. Yes, that was his presentation almost verbatim! Aside from the fee, we quickly caught on that this was a new tour format. We thought that's ok. Maybe they have improved the tour. The original, long-lived free tour, included 5 stops around the cat walk (which is still in place) by 5 different people that seemed to appreciate the wine and your time. Now onto what the guide called the sampling room. This is a dark, grungy, after thought of an area cut off from another dark area. There was no seating. The bar was lined up with paper and pencil and we were told only 1 to a couple. We quickly realized that this is due to lack of room at the bar for even one person of the pair. The guide gave us each a cheap feeling plastic souvenir wine cup, was friendly and did his job of talk and pour. Yet, he blew all credibility when he admitted he didn't drink wine, and was more of a beer guy. He basically repeated a memorized script. After the 5 pours, it was time to leave. Upon exiting the gift shop, the 2 people behind the register just looked at us as we left. No communication at all. Unknowingly to them, we were probably leaving for the last time!
