点评：My 18yo nephew and I really enjoyed this. We were supposed to go on a Saturday but received a call 3 hours before our scheduled trip that the weather was too wet and windy. It was bright and sunny in Kona, so if you're coming from there, I'd text or the check the weather in Waipio before you head out (same the next day when we left from a sunny Hilo). We were offered a refund or a reschedule for the nest day. They don't normally have rides on Sunday so I appreciated that. We took the reschedule. I texted the next morning to confirm that it was still on as we were now in Hilo (as opposed to Kona), so it would take us 2 hours each way to get there. They responded right away and said they needed to wait to make the call. They didn't get back to me, but did respond when I text again later to confirm. The drive through the valley is beautiful. Once we arrived, they let us know that it would be a wet ride and offered refunds but the 3 groups of us all wanted to still go. They had heavy rain jackets, boots, saddle bags, and helmets for anyone who wanted to borrow them- kids to adults. It was a drizzly ride but everyone seemed to really enjoy it. If its a clear day, you can see a beautiful view of the coast. In the thick clouds, it definitely did not feel like we were in Hawaii but it had a mystical feel to it. We rode through grazing cows and the owner told us about her family living on the land for a few generations. I've ridden horses a few times on tours but am not at all an experienced rider. The two leaders gave good instructions and I felt safe the whole time. My only minor wish is that the other leader didn't talk nonstop. She had interesting info to share, but it also took away from the experience of being out in beautiful nature with peaceful animals.
