点评:These Falls are two-tiered, and cascade down the steep cliffs into Young’s Creek and then out to the Columbia River far below.
The total height of the Falls is 220 feet, but the top tiers are not visible from the place where everyone goes to see them. The viewable area is an hour-glass shape with 45 feet of the falls above the iconic 1914 bridge. You can hear the loud gushing water from the highway. To see the two 20-foot drops below the bridge, you must take a short stroll down some steps and a walking path that was cut into the basalt cliffs when the bridge was constructed. At the bottom, there is a small fenced-in area from where you can get a close-up view of the base of the lovely Falls. The beautiful arch of the bridge created some fantastic photo ops.
Crowds are practically non-existent at this place, and all-in-all, it was a lovely experience for the waterfall lovers in us. Plus, the greenery and the wildflowers around add to the scenic effects.
Worth a visit to this hidden gem.
