库姆堡村的点评
点评：What a disappointment!
This village is overhyped and I’m embarrassed we tell overseas tourists it is Englands prettiest village. Yes it’s a lovely unspoilt main Street of authentic houses but that’s all. Frankly it needs a good tidy up, the pavements are full of weeds and flowerbed unattended. Scaffolding up in 2 places and no work being done. The graveyard is a disgrace especially with the number of visitors, it could be much more attractive and well kept. It’s like the locals don’t care and they probably don’t want so many tourists anyway.
The car park at the top of the town is 10-15 walk down a steep hill, no pavement , people walking up and down on both sides of the road with cars as well and trying to avoid stinging nettles sticking out into the road, the whole village needs a good tidy up! Also we mistakenly paid for 5 hours of parking as the sun shines on the information input thingy and you can’t read it back to check, with a queue of people behind you making you feel you have to hurry. Not a good experience, just drive through the village and you see everything there is to see! You don’t even need to get out of your car.
