点评:What a brilliant attraction! This early 20th century warship is in great condition, with interesting exhibits and lots of interesting areas above and below deck to explore. The nature of the visit made a welcome contrast with the ancient monuments and ruins that unsurprisingly dominated the rest of our Athens itinerary. We saw a historical wooden vessel moored nearby, and they are clearly working to make a submarine accessible and visitor-friendly.
The location also seems to give a good chance of seeing a superyacht, and the coastal views are amazing.
In practical terms, the ship museum is easily reached by the A2 bus going southwest from Syntagma square, then a stroll alongside/through the Stavros Niarchos park, or you could do it in 15mins by taxi from there or Syngrou Fix. Admission is exceptional value. The staff are welcoming and willingly offered the child discount, even when faced with a tall teenager.
The souvenir shop is also very good value for money.
Basically, a hidden gem, that deserves a much bigger crowd but is better for being relatively quiet.
