Lush, serene, welcoming and beautiful temple site
Kauai's Hindu Monastery的点评
点评：This is a beautiful and welcoming Hindu temple and monastery. Please review their visiting hours, expectations and guides on their website before visiting – we nearly missed these, and would have missed the visitor hours which are restricted from 9 AM to 12 PM. Please pay attention to dress code and shoe removal expectations, but they have sarongs on entry if you need it to cover up. Furthermore, reservations are required to attend religious services in the temple.
I commend the monks and volunteers who create such a welcoming environment- there are many signs, kiosks, brochures and even a guided tour at 10:45 which made our visit very easy and serene. There were visitors from several backgrounds on our visit, although most are South Asian families.
In addition to the detailed and fantastic stone sculptures and temples, the lush grounds and plantings are beautiful with the Wailua River running through them. Recommend visiting with an open mind for a unique experience.
