Tranquil garden near Hot Springs

点评：Garvan Woodland Garden is near the town of Hot Springs which offers plenty of options for accommodation. The garden is signposted from main roads and is on the banks of Lake Hamilton. There is a large parking lot. Tickets can be bought at the gate or online.
"Golf cart" tours are available, but more can be seen on foot. Many of the paths are easy walking, but there are side paths to explore. The fit can be walking here for a couple of hours easily. A map given at the entrance enabled easy self exploration. I think the "Golf cart" tour is expensive, but it does give you a private driver / guide which will add depth to your visit. The workers in the garden were friendly and keen to share information with us which added to our experience.
The garden will obviously change with the seasons. It was hot but shaded when we visited. Take time to sit and take in the vistas across the lake, as well as the planting, streams and ponds.
There is a cafe, which is a little expensive, a plant shop, gift shop and model railway as well as play area for children to explore. St. Anthony chapel is in the garden; a place of beauty and tranquility.
