点评:My mate and I headed up here yesterday, pairing it off with the neighbouring Beinn and Dòthaidh. The parking was absolutely spot on by the way - a free car park adjacent to the Bridge of Orchy hotel. It really is priceless having confidence that your car is parked safely.
It was a steady climb to the Bealach where there was a choice of what Munro to tackle first. We left Beinn Dorain to the end. Both required a little bit of scrambling but nothing unmanageable. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t playing ball and the views on each summit were non-existent. The paths overall were good and almost walkable without any mapping (just a couple of iffy bits).
Beinn Dorain offered slightly more in the fear factor category, with a mountain side climb with steep, rocky drops to the right. On our descent, we were privileged to have clearer views over the area and a glimpse of Glencoe to our right and the Ben More Munros to our left.
At just over five hours, we bagged our two mountains and were heading home before tea. A successful day’s hiking thwarted only by the overcast and damp conditions.

Beinn Dorain
