点评:What a fascinating and informative place to visit. Went on a tour of the mine that is accessible and the village which lasted about two and a half hours, about 45 minutes of that was in the mine. It's an easy walk inside, they supply hard hats as the roof is low in places ( unless you are 4ft tall!). Our tour was at half one and we arrived early so we could go round the museum first (about 45 - 60 minutes. Our lovely tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions, she certainly was passionate about the place.
I recommend booking your tour, you will need a jacket and walking boots / wellies. It's wet and 9° in the mine.
If you like history this is a must. I still can't believe the conditions the miners ( some of these being children) worked & lived in. If you thought landlords are bad nowadays they were really bad back then!
