A journey of a lifetime on the Cuillin Ridge!

点评：Thanks to Dave and his incredible guiding skills we completed the Cuillin Ridge Traverse over two days in heatwave conditions.
On the lead up to the climb we spoke a number of times discussing aims and also how the weather was looking.
With a weather window showing a few days earlier than originally planned we decided to head over to Skye and what a decision it was with dry rock and views as far as the eye could see!
His intimate knowledge of the ridge and location of its water sources meant I never had to carry more than 3lts of water between the different springs on the ridge, enabling us to move at a good speed while staying hydrated at the same time.
Both days we decided it was best to start at 5 am to beat the heat! We completed 8 of the ridges munro’s on the first day only missing out the TD gap and Kings Chimney to keep moving at good speed.
The bivvy site on Glaic Moire was the perfect spot to enjoy the unreal sunset and give us a good starting point for the second day!
The second days climbing was everything I hoped for and more with the best scrambling I’ve experienced on some of the best terrain in the British Isles!
Dave always made me feel in safe hands, with regular words of encouragement and a great wealth of knowledge of the ridges history and geology.
This was my third time out with Dave, previously both being three day winter mountaineering trips and he certainly made the traverse a trip of a lifetime so would highly recommend to anyone looking for a guide to complete the ridge or any other mountaineering adventure in the highlands!
