点评:We just got back from a week in Alabama and we had a great time. We spent two and a half days in Delta Alabama and Cheaha State Park before heading to our next location. We got to Cheaha State Park and stopped out one of the first lookouts we found it and it was beautiful. We live in Florida so being able to see views from up high is something we don't get to regularly see is always a plus.
It is so peaceful to be able to look out and see for miles and miles above trees, hills, and life in general.
We were staying in the park to do some glamping as our kids had not yet had a camping experience (you will melt where we live in Florida) and although it was still warm the tint had AC so we knew they would be okay. We booked through Timberline Glamping. And our place was really nice, only issue was the outside zipper/door area was ripped and needed to be replaced, but it still closed. Plus you have the screen zipper inside too.
We explored the park and hiked a couple different trails. Our kids did really good as a 9 and 6 year old as well. The Bald Rock Trail is super easy as it is a boardwalk to the side of the mountain. Which you can walk down the steps to get to the rocks
The Pulpit Rock is a little bit rougher but when you get to the view, it is amazing.
The Bigfoot trail that you take from the observation tower is good but if you leave your car at the start, you should take the trail back...it's easier than taking the road back up the hills.
We did three waterfall highs that were a bit more challenging than the others that were in the area but we're worth it.
This park is beautiful and I would visit again. But DO your research. Bring bug spray, hike in pants, long sleeves. They warn you of ticks. My daughter had one on her arm and luckily we seen it before she got bit. But it's the woods, just gotta be aware of your surroundings. Luckily she also had long sleeves on too. Yes it's hot but better than being ate up.
We traveled into Oxford Alabama for dinner some nights as well it's about a 30 minute drive but the scenery on the way is worth it. This trip was perfect.
