Cozy & Quaint Stay in the Heart of Colonial Williamsburg

点评：I think there is some confusion in these reviews. There IS, apparently, a Brickhouse Tavern restaurant in Williamsburg on Scotland Street, but the picture is of the lodging house that is part of the Colonial Houses system in Colonial Williamsburg (CW) on Duke of Gloucester (the main thoroughfare of CW) and Botetourt Street.
This review is for the free-standing set of hotel rooms, NOT the restaurant. When you book the Colonial Houses, as we did, you may end up staying at the Brickhouse Tavern. You check in at the Williamsburg Inn, and guests are allowed to use the two pools at the Inn as well as other amenities. The Inn is a couple of blocks away from the Brickhouse Tavern though. In fact, there is no front desk at the Brickhouse Tavern - only at the Inn.
Our room at the Brickhouse Tavern was cozy and comfortable. It had two twin beds, a dresser, desk, table, a small fridge, and a full bathroom. I chose it because I wanted something quaint and affordable within CW, and it delivered that. We could simply walk out the door and visit all of CW's attractions. In the evenings, we took the shuttle bus out to Merchant's Square to find a restaurant for dinner, so, except to visit Jamestown and Yorktown, which are both nearby, we never drove while staying in Williamsburg. Parking was conveniently behind the Brickhouse Tavern, and there is a shuttle stop within a few minutes walk of this lodging.
In all, it was small, but a good value given its excellent location, access to swimming pools, and ease of catching the shuttle.
