Amazing experience feeding the otters

点评：We visited here to do the otter experience & wow! What an experience it was.
We were booked onto the 1030am slot and whilst we waited, took the opportunity to look round the butterfly house. Pleasantly surprised as there were far more butterflies than we expected in mid November!
The otter experience started with a tour of the sites & explanation of our morning. The staff here are so knowledgeable & clearly love working with these amazing animals.
All the otters are all well looked after and split into different pens depending on their familial grouping or specific needs.
We helped prep the food for the otters then took the food to the pens and either hand fed them or threw individual pieces to them. It was brilliant!
Hand feeding was such a special experience. Gorgeous Peggy - so gentle as she takes the food from your hand. Willow & her large brood of children really enjoyed their meatballs & standing on each other’s heads to get more!
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we went into the pen with Pepper, Hercules & Halloumi where we were able to sit and feed them as they sat on our feet (this is why wellies are necessary!) & scuttled around us.
Got to also mention the funny polecats & gorgeous Izzy the iguana!
It was a brilliant morning & worth the 4hr journey to have such a memorable experience.
