Little River Canyon Center的点评
点评：Excellent visitor center. Informative film in theater that details the energy efficiency of the building, NASA involvement, and other prominent Fort Payne individuals who made this building come to fruition. The film also details the importance of the visitor center, their educational programs and surrounding area. Nice exhibits and various pelts to examine the texture of animal furs.
The Canyon Center Bridge Trail is an easy walk through the trees to the bridge. An opportunity to listen to the birds and other sounds of nature. Due to recent rainfall conditions, the water over the falls was minimal.
All staff at the center were welcoming and knowledgeable. Maps of the area are available. A gift shop is on premises.
Good stop to stretch your legs, use clean restrooms and learn about the area.
Across the road from the center is the scenic drive. This meandering road, with the sunlight peeking through the trees is a slow, quiet ride and a chance to absorb nature. Various pull offs with descriptive signs about the specific area. The Lynn Overlook is a pull off that describes the various rare species of plants and animals found in the area. I was lucky enough to see a flock of turkeys. There is an unusual rock formation in the middle of the road which is quite unique.
