点评：We were really impressed with our wine experience. We were whisked from Split onto a gorgeous hillside with breathtaking views of the Adriatic to begin our evening. There, we sipped a light, refreshing rose as we began to learn from the family about their 1000 years of winemaking history. After a fascinating presentation, we were allowed to wander in the vineyard among the manicured vines and ancient olive groves. They watched us closely to make sure nobody had an empty glass or an unanswered question. As the sun began to set, we captured some last golden hour photos before proceeding down to the winery and tasting room. In the winery we were privileged to taste their Zinfandel straight from the tank, followed by some of the Plavac Mali straight out of the oak barrel. This is not a wine conglomerate with every different variety under the sun. Instead , they make 3 wines and they make them extremely well. Finally we moved into the cozy tasting room where they broke out delicious local breads, cheeses and prosciutto to accompany their gorgeous red wines. We had so much fun deciding which wine went best with each part of the food offering! Having participated in many tastings when traveling and having organized many tastings for my own shop I would call this a world class experience offered without any hint of pretentiousness. Two words kept coming into my mind “generous” and “approachable”. They were so generous with their time, their knowledge and their outstanding wines!! They also avoided the mind numbing wine snob jargon that can make new and intermediate enthusiasts feel out of place. I would rate this experience as an “incredible” value for the money. I left the tasting with as much fine wine as I could fit into my suitcase and contact details for the Putalj worldwide distributor.
