A great place for families, but not for celebrations

点评：Suidhe Lodge is a little run down in some areas, but is still a great property with lovely garden and super support from the staff at GNL, but it's not suitable for everybody. I spent a lot of time looking for somewhere that would could be used for my husbands 40th birthday; lots of these larger houses specify no parties and ask that you confirm what the gathering is for to ensure that its a good fit for all. Suidhe Lodge does neither, and as it also has a pub attached so I thought it would be a better option for us. We received noise complaints on the Friday night as we'd been in the hot tub after 10pm. We apologised to GNL team and directly to the neighbour's the following day. The neighbours from both sides of the lodge then appeared at the hot tub at 9.10pm on the Saturday night to tell us to get out because they had small children trying to sleep. We apologised again and said that we thought we were ok to use it till 10pm and were advised that those rules didn't matter because of the young children, and because we had all been down the bottom of the garden playing games in the afternoon. We weren't looking to fall out with anybody so we just got out, but it was disappointing when the hot tub had been a 'deal breaker' in ruling out other lodges. So if you have a family or are planning on being out and about during the day it's a super spot, but the neighbours could be a bit problematic if you are a group of adults, or if you like to play rounders and have BBQ's on sunny afternoons
