New landlords deserve a chance
The White Heather的点评
点评：We paid our first visit to this establishment for a music event on a Saturday night. It is in a great central location, right next door to Tesco and has a fair sized car park at the rear. As expected for the location and time, there were plenty of revellers in, but we never felt intimidated, as there is plenty of space.
The management has changed only a few weeks ago and I can see from previous reviews that there have been issues in the past, but we had a very pleasant experience. It was clean, well stocked and the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming.
It is obviously geared towards sports and music and is well set up for both. At the time of our visit, the kitchen was not ready yet and only limited food (filled rolls) was available. I am not certain of what the new landlords have planned on that front, as nobody enquired about food at the time I was there so I am not sure how much demand there is for it with plenty of fast food outlets in the area, but that remains to be seen.
A previous reviewer said there is no wheelchair access and this is not true. While the main front entrance does have several concrete steps, there is a further entrance on the side of the pub which is suitable for wheelchairs.
In short, never having experienced it prior to the new landlords (Jo and Phil) taking it over, it is clear from comparing my own experience to that of earlier reviewers that the new team are working hard to address any problems it may have had in the past and any changes they make are positive ones. I wish them luck and success with it.
