Lovely zoo with great animals

点评：Lovely zoo with some really interesting animals. Other reviews have suggested the animals seemed bored and the enclosures were in poor repair, but that was not our experience. On the contrary, the animals seemed well looked after, and had some great enclosures with lots of enrichment. It's true that the zoo was in need of some modernization, but we saw that there was work being done on some areas whilst we were there.
This zoo has the best reptile house we have ever seen, and the bears were a particular highlight.
The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to our experience at the café/gelato stand at the exit. The staff there were rude, surly and almost aggressive. However the staff at the café in the park, and all the keepers we saw were lovely. Oh, and the toilets are a bit grim.
But don't let other reviews put you off, it's a great zoo and much bigger than I thought it would be. The nearby park is also lovely and well worth an explore.
