点评：I decided to walk around the reservoir with my Dog on a rainy October morning. There's a car park a short walk from the reservoir itself but there's also ample parking on the road alongside the reservoir if you don't fancy walking along the narrow roadway that leads from the carpark to the reservoir. The walk around the reservoir is about three and a half miles, so about two hours in total factoring in time to stop and admire the views and take photographs, maybe a little longer depending on your fitness level but we wandered around at a gentle pace so we could take in the views its quite flat considering how hilly the Moors are in places but there is a longish uphill bit but its quite gentle. We walked along the actual road that skirts the reservoir initially as the tracks closer to the reservoir where very muddy and slippy. There's some absolutely beautiful scenery that skirts the reservoir and walking along the road in no way detracted from the experience of our visit. Once we got two thirds of the way around the road veers away from the reservoir though so we proceeded along the track that follows the reservoir, this part of the track is absolutely fine and also leads to BOTH Dams with stunning views. It wasn't busy, i think the whole way around we saw maybe three or four people at the most. We did pop in to the discovery centre (which is about half a mile or so from the carpark, closer if you park near the dam/ reservoir itself) and a very nice chap took the time to explain the best route (considering the time of year and the conditions). He was polite and helpful. There are quite a few footpaths that lead from the roadway down to the reservoir, as mentioned previously though some are quite safe whilst some are quite muddy and slippy, if you think its too dangerous just carry on walking along the road as another safer non slippy path will soon present itself. I'd definitely recommend a visit as its an area of outstanding beauty.
